Monkey Rescue.. Kandivali Team Efforts

Christina found an injured monkey in Dream Park, Thakur Village. Since morning it was running around the park & by evening was tired & could hardly move. It had injuries on the face & would fall off after a few steps. Luckily it got a hiding place in the park. We found it difficult to catch it as no one was experienced enough. Christina tried hard since 11 am to get someone to catch the monkey. She continued the vigil along with the park security so that there was no harm done to the animal. They tried feeding the monkey too. The guards protected the animal from harm & sheltered it.

We checked with all NGOs, National Park but no one had a solution to pick the monkey. Finally, Nilesh of PAWS suggested that we check with Jinesh. Jinesh came down at 11 pm all the way from Charni Road. Nishant, Sandip were present to help. Jinesh finished the rescue within 5 mins & the monkey smoothly landed in the foldable cage. We were amazed at the ease with which he completed the job.
The monkey was sick & had very little strength. Its taken to SPCA & I hope it survives.
We can now proudly add the monkey to our list of rescues.

Thanks to the guidance of Nilesh, Goodicia, Shakuntala & Dr Jangle, we persisted & got a logical conclusion. Christina, Nishant, Sandip & I thank Jinesh for his timely support & effort to land at such a short notice.
